Jacques Caraës is one of those men baptized with sea water, who travels the oceans, multiplying experiences on board all types of boats, but always returning to his home port, the Breton abers.
This love for his homeland was forged during his childhood, between his role as a crew member on his father's boat and his captain's hat on board a wooden cutter from Aber Benoît.
A great sailor, he won the first Transat AG2R in 1992, with Michel Desjoyeaux. Today, he passes on his nautical experience as race director of the Solitaire du Figaro, the Route du Rhum and the Vendée Globe. Jacques is also the skipper of two classic and historic sailing boats, the Mariquita and the Moonbeam IV.
