Sylvain Mercandalli

It is through his outrigger Canoe that Sylvain Mercandalli gets away from city life. It all began with a trip to French Polynesia, where this seasoned athlete discovered this traditional boat. Back in France, he continues the adventure by buying a Hawaiian outrigger Canoe, more adapted to rough seas than its Tahitian cousin.

As a dental surgeon, he swapped his lab coat during his free time for the beaches of Gironde to brave the waves on his Hawaiian canoe. A few strokes of the oar and Sylvain gets away from the crowd to enjoy the calm of the ocean.

Our ambassador realized his dream by finishing sixth in 2015 in the mythical Hawaiian Molakai competition, 52 km in the open sea to reach the island of Oahu. Between competitions, Sylvain likes to vary the pleasures, sliding with skill on his foil board. A true enthusiast, he is not ready to turn his back on the ocean.
