2025 edition

Cenitz, on a saturday in september

Bright sunshine, a little swell, and ocean lovers.

The ideal conditions on that day brought the Hoalen Tribes together for a single day, punctuated by the comings and goings of duos in the water.

2025 was a record-breaking year: 24 family pairs, from toddlers to seniors, and 10 couples. Under the Basque sun, this lovely little group warmed up, more or less seriously, on the beach.

The atmosphere was also part of the fun. Smiles and impatient foot-tapping before jumping into the water. It must be said that in recent editions, conditions have been unpredictable.

Throughout the day, our cheerful participants perform a ballet of comings and goings, each finding a wave to share, sometimes in pairs, threes, or even fours.

The duos compete in skill and creativity, all in a joyful and very harmonious chaos, it must be said.

The “Families” final brought together two legendary father-daughter tandems: the Maurin, multiple winners, and the Levacher, who clinched their first victory with a series of memorable acrobatics.

In the “Couples” category, the two finalist duos, François & Le Chat and Du Calme, gave a magnificent demonstration of marital synchronization in the water!

A look back at this year's edition 2025

In the evening, everyone gathers at the Ermitage for the awards ceremony. Against the backdrop of a lively concert by Soul Enterprise, which prolongs the spirit of the day, the same smiles can be seen on everyone's faces—smiles of exhaustion after a busy day full of acrobatics.
