For this Malar overshirt, Hoalen uses one of the world's most sought-after woollen fabrics, Harris Tweed®, produced in the Scottish archipelago of the Outer Hebrides on the famous island with two names, Harris & Lewis.
Harris Tweed® is a traditional ancestral fabric made from virgin wool, mainly from herds raised on the Scottish mainland, transported to the island's spinning mills, washed and dyed in an infinite palette of colors using Harris Tweed®'s own unique process. The colored wools are then blended according to a secret recipe, carded and spun locally. As all Harris Tweed® products must, by law, be woven by hand on a treadle loom, the bobbins are delivered to island weavers who produce the fabric ordered, following the factory's instructions.
The nobility of the raw material and the know-how of each actor in this ancestral manufacturing process make Harris Tweed® a fabric with astonishing properties: it is particularly warm, breathable, resistant and virtually waterproof.
Hoalen has lined this Malar overshirt with lightweight synthetic quilting to ensure warmth, and a synthetic lining whose mesh structure ensures breathability and extreme resistance.
